Wednesday, November 29, 2017 - GROUP BUS TRIP TO "Christmas at Longwood Gardens" - Join us for a wonderful afternoon and early evening at Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, PA. Delight in holiday horticulture showcasing more than 6,000 seasonal plants. You will enjoy organ sign-alongs, strolling carolers, and performances filling the gardens with festive cheer. Outside, the sounds of oohs and aahs will fill the air as illuminated stars twinkle above, colorful fountains dance to holiday music, and a half million lights brighten the night.
We will leave the Macungie Institute, 510 E. Main St., Macungie at 11:30 am and arrive at the beautiful Mendenhall Inn at 1 pm for a plated meal with your choice of: Pork Tenderloin Au Poivre (with coarse black pepper) OR Filet of Flounder with Crabmeat OR Chicken Marsala with local mushrooms - tender breast of chicken sautéed with roasted garlic, shallots and mix of local mushrooms deglazed in a rich Marsala wine sauce. All meals served with vegetable & potato, fresh baked rolls, dessert coffee and teas. We'll arrive at Longwood Gardens at 3:30 pm for your self-guided tour of the Gardens and outdoor displays. We'll depart at 7 pm and return to the Macungie Institute by 9 pm. Friday, June 16, 2017 - GROUP BUS TRIP TO HERSHEY, PA - Join us for a fun-filled day in Hershey, PA. Enjoy a self guided tour of the beautiful Hershey Gardens. Then, treat yourself to a scrumptious buffet luncheon at the historic and legendary HOTEL HERSHEY. We will then hop on the Hershey Trolley for a guided tour of the very unique town of Hershey, PA. You will also have time to spend at Hershey's Chocolate World and check out the recently improved Chocolate World ride. Cost is only $98 per person and includes Perkiomen Motorcoach transportation, lunch at The Hotel Hershey, all taxes and gratuities, admission to Hershey Gardens, Trolley ride, and Chocolate World. Since 2012, the "Friends of the Macungie Institute" have donated/pledged over $21,000 for the direct benefit of the Macungie Institute.

Board Meetings are held usually held at the Macungie Institute, at 1 pm on the last Wednesday of the odd numbered months
(Jan., Mar., May, Jul., & Sep.) The Annual Membership Meeting is held in November. Meetings are open to the public.
The Friends of the Macungie Institute is a non-profit organization supporting the Macungie Institute.
The “Friends of Macungie Institute” organization has received tax exempt status under section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue code. Contributions to the “Friends” are deductible under section 170 of the Code. The “Friends” are qualified to receive tax deductible bequest, devises, transfers or gifts under section 2055, 2106 or 2522 of the Code. The “Friends” have been classified as a public charity.
